About Jim Hagedorn
Jim Hagedorn’s unique style of commentary mixes cutting humor, reflective analysis and hard charging commonsense to promote the brand of conservatism established by America’s Founding Fathers, reintroduced by Senator Barry Goldwater and perfected in modern times by President Ronald Reagan, the author’s hero.
Mr. Hagedorn’s speciality is election commentary (Election Masterpiece Analysis) and the writer saves his most vicious barbs for Republicans who mimic Democrats, or as Jim likes to say: Elephants who act like Jackasses.
Mr. Hagedorn acquired his legislative and election expertise through 25 years of Capitol Hill service. Jim spent seven years as the senior Legislative Assistant to former Republican Congressman Arlan Stangeland of Minnesota and a combined 18 years as the Congressional Affairs Officer for two non-partisan Department of the Treasury agencies.
Jim has initiated and managed the enactment of several bills designed to improve government, cut spending and eliminate bureaucracy. Mr. Hagedorn’s crowning achievement was passage of the Mandatory Electronic Funds Transfer Act of 1996, a law that requires Federal agencies to disburse hundreds of millions of annual payments electronically instead of by paper check. This commonsense reform has improved service to citizens, vastly reduced financial crimes, eliminated two check processing centers and scores of bureaucrat positions, and saved taxpayers an extimated $1.5 billion (and counting).
A native of Minnesota, Mr. Hagedorn was born in Blue Earth and raised on the family’s gain and livestock farm near Truman. The author is the son of former Minnesota Republican Congressman Tom Hagedorn.
Note that Mr. Hagedorn has discontinued posts to this website in order to explore the opportunity to return to his southern Minnesota roots, accept a position in the private sector and run for Congress. Jim is committed to fighting the extreme liberal policies of President Obama and the Democratic controlled Congress and intends to help the Republican Party retake the House of Representatives in 2010. As President Ronald Reagan so eloquently said: If not us who, if not now when?

Nice website Mr. Conservative! Excellent work!
